Wild Meadows is a nature based, child led program rooted in a deep respect for childhood, located in Lancaster, PA every Wednesday. We believe children learn best through meaningful experiences, unhurried time outdoors, and the freedom to follow their curiosity. Our days are shaped by the seasons, guided by wonder, and grounded in connection to the natural world. Through play, exploration, and gentle guidance, we nurture confident, capable children who feel at home in nature and within themselves.
ARRIVAL - FREE CHOICE & OUTDOOR PLAY
Our days will start outside at the “Journey House” playground nestled in-between the trees. Friends will run, jump, and have the opportunity for gross motor skill movement.
CONNECTION CIRCLE
Children will join their friends in a daily gathering where they share stories and experiences with one another. Guides will read a carefully selected book each day and introduce the 'I wonder' topic for exploration, planting seeds of curiosity for upcoming explorations.
NOURISHMENT BREAK
After washing up, children will enjoy their home-packed snacks together with their Wild Meadows friends.
HANDS-ON CREATIVITY
Children will create artwork inspired by the day's theme or the current season.
OUTDOOR EXPLORATION
Children and guides will hike through the back of the property, straight into the beautiful Landis Woods for open-ended nature exploration. Friends will have time for nature journaling, investigating the day's 'I wonder' topic up close, and enjoying free exploration time.
DAYS END
Eager voices fill the afternoon air as friends and guides gather for our goodbye ritual, sharing stories from the day before heading home.
